APPLiA – Food Wasting Campaign Photo Shoot

As with previous projects, once we received the campaign messages, we did the necessary research to map international campaigns on food waste. Our team, consisting of an art director, a food stylist and a photographer, brainstormed several concepts for all the messages and visualized them differently. The aim was to create shocking, eye-catching images that are playful, creative, and not only aesthetic but also convey content.

We have redefined the classic food photos, where, for example, the unconventional use of kitchen appliances, less appealing food and ordinary objects are reinterpreted in a completely new way, in a different setting from the usual. To make the pictures as authentic as possible, we avoided the use of image manipulation and used the classic tools of food photography. The food and props were composed in the studio and no special effects were applied in post-production. The key message of the campaign is that even tiny decisions can have great impact and spectacular results.

The photo shoot was preceded by several days of preparation, as most of the photos required quite a few supplies that we had to acquire. In addition, some of the photos included ready-made food, which was prepared by our amazing food stylist.

Most of the photos needed a kitchen environment, so we used the Bosch Home showroom, with the help of APPLiA. All other photos were taken in the Sidelight studio. We have prepared a well-planned script and developed an efficient workflow to ensure a smooth process.
